The following are Active Ministries that Christ Church Helps to Support Globally...
United Thank Offering (UTO).  UTO is a ministry of the Episcopal Church for the mission of the global church.  UTO is entrusted to promote Thank Offerings, to receive the offerings, and to distribute the UTO monies to support mission and ministry throughout the Episcopal Church.  Monies collected are presented at the annual Diocesan Convention service!!
Episcopal Partnership for Mission and Outreach The "Partnership" mission is to inspire mission and outreach in partnership with every congregation; to support congregations as they develop, initiate and maintain outreach ministries; and to raise funds to support congretation mission and outreach.  Annual fundraising campaign begins at Easter and ends on Pentecost.
Episcopal Relief and Development (ERD).  This is the International Outreach Organization for the Episcopal Church.  ERD responds to emergency needs, as well as on-going needs, especially in developing countries.
Christ Church holds an "ERD Sunday" to raise donations, as well as periodic parish projects to raise funds for a specific need, such as mosquito nets or water filtration systems.
NEW INFO. AS OF 12-2020:
Most of us have never experienced an Advent and Christmas season when we haven't come together as a parish family to celebrate this special time of year.  As I write this article, our parish church building is closed, while our parish community is open!  Most of us will not be able to join our younger family members indoors for Christmas this year, nor travel to wherever our families may be.  Christmas shopping may be a challenge as well.  I suspect my adult sons realize this, as they told me there was no need for Christmas presents for them this year.
Ahhhh, but I have an idea I would like to share with you!  How about gifting our loved ones by donating a farm animal, fruit tree, clean water, disaster relief kit, Covid-19 relief kit or bicycle through Episcopal Relief and Development?  How about gifting our loved ones by donating a cot, propane stove, audio Bible, sewing machine, school supplies or medical supplies through Food for the Poor?  There are items available in all price ranges, and it would be easy to select a gift that would mean a great deal to our loved ones.  I think my sons will appreciate their gifts!  UPDATETHIS IS SUCH A GREAT IDEA SO LET'S KEEP IT GOING ALL YEAR!!!!
Here are the websites for each organization.  Also included are their phone numbers if you would like to have a hard copy of the Gift Catalog sent to your home.
